The Black Stars of Ghana put on a mesmerising display on Matchday 6 of the CAF World Cup qualifier, thrashing Madagascar 3-0 at the Grand Stade Al-Hoceima stadium in Morocco, cementing their place as group leaders with a five-point gap in Group I.
A brace from midfielder Thomas Partey and West Ham United winger Mohamed Kudus was enough to see off second-placed Madagascar, who are still hunting for their first-ever World Cup Finals appearance.
From the onset, the Black Stars were in control, with Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey scoring the opener in the 11th minute, connecting with captain Jordan Ayew’s cross from a free kick.
The second half saw Ghana continue their dominance, with Partey scoring his second goal in the 58th minute.
The win was sealed minutes later when Mohamed Kudus added a third goal, putting the match beyond Madagascar’s reach.
After a disappointing start to their World Cup campaign, Ghana rediscovered its form, and their fourth straight victory saw them lead Group I with 15 points, five points clear of Madagascar, which sat in second place.
