Funke Akindele’s Everybody Loves Jenifa Smashes Records With Over ₦1 Billion In 19 Days

Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has achieved a significant milestone as her latest film, Everybody Loves Jenifa, crossed ₦1 billion in ticket sales within 19 days of its release.

The comedy-drama, which has captivated audiences in Nigeria and Ghana, has sold 201,604 tickets, amassing a total of ₦1,034,091,220. This remarkable feat makes it the fastest film in West Africa to reach the billion-naira mark.

Expanding its success globally, the film earned approximately ₦300 million ($194,560) in just eight days after debuting in cinemas across the UK, US, and Canada on December 20.

Overwhelmed by the support, Akindele expressed her gratitude on social media, writing,

This highlights Akindele’s unique ability to blend humour and drama, reaffirming her as a lead in Nollywood’s ongoing success. It signals a bright future for the Nigerian film industry as it continues to progress globally.
