King Charles III attends Church, his first public outing since Cancer Diagnosis

In his first public appearance since Buckingham Palace’s announcement of his cancer diagnosis, King Charles III was seen in church on today at St Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham, eastern England.

Accompanied by his wife, Queen Camilla, the 75-year-old monarch waved to the media as he walked into the church, where he was greeted by Reverend Paul Williams.

The appearance came after King Charles released a message expressing gratitude for the outpouring of support and good wishes he had received since the announcement of his diagnosis. He described the messages as a source of great comfort and encouragement during this challenging time.

The diagnosis, which was revealed by Buckingham Palace last Monday, followed the discovery of a “form of cancer” during treatment for a benign enlarged prostate.

While the specific type of cancer has not been disclosed, King Charles has taken an indefinite break from royal public duties but continues to handle administrative tasks.

Despite the health setback occurring just 17 months into his reign following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II in 2022, King Charles has generally enjoyed good health, aside from occasional injuries from his hobbies such as polo and skiing. Queen Camilla stated earlier last week that her husband was doing “extremely well” given the circumstances.
