409

In a significant development, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed conducting airstrikes on Feb. 2, targeting Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) Quds Force and affiliated militia groups in Iraq and Syria. The strikes, initiated at 4:00 p.m. (EST), involved U.S. military forces hitting more than 85 targets, employing over 125 precision munitions.

Among the facilities targeted were command and control operations, intelligence centres, rockets and missiles, unmanned aerial vehicle storages, and logistics and munition supply chain facilities. These facilities were associated with militia groups and their IRGC sponsors, who were implicated in orchestrating attacks against U.S. and Coalition forces.

Notably, the airstrike mission utilized numerous aircraft, including long-range bombers flown from the United States. The move underscores a robust response to threats posed by IRGC-Quds Force and its affiliated entities in the region.

Stay tuned for further updates on this developing situation.
