Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman, has reiterated the kingdom’s support for the establishment of an independent Palestinian State with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The call was made during a speech at the Royal Court in Mina Palace, where he received prominent figures who performed the Hajj this year.
“The Kingdom renews its call to the international community to recognise the independent state of Palestine, on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. This will enable the brotherly Palestinian people to obtain their legitimate rights” and pave the way for “comprehensive, just, and lasting peace,” he pointed.
The Prince emphasised the importance of implementing the recent UN Security Council resolutions, particularly those advocating for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
He urged the international community to take all necessary measures to protect lives in Gaza.
The Saudi leader stressed that recognising the independent state of Palestine on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, would enable the Palestinian people to obtain their legitimate rights and pave the way for comprehensive, just, and lasting peace.
This call is reported to be part of Saudi Arabia’s long-standing commitment to the Palestinian cause.
The kingdom has been critical in regional and international efforts to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
The Crown Prince’s remarks come amid ongoing tensions in the region, particularly in the Gaza Strip, where Israeli aggression has led to significant humanitarian crises.
The international community has been urged to take decisive action to protect lives and ensure a lasting peace.
