Ribadu Denies Aiding Dethroned Emir's Return to Kano
Ado Bayero, Nuhu Ribadu and Muhammadu Sanusi II

Nigeria’s National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, has denied the allegation that he helped the dethroned Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado-Bayero, return to the state.

Kano State Deputy Governor Aminu Abdulsalam alleged that Ribadu arranged two aircraft to transport Ado-Bayero back to Kano early on Saturday.

The NSA’s spokesperson, Zakari Mijinyawa, refuted the claims, labelling them as misleading.

Mijinyawa urged political actors to avoid spreading misinformation.

I read the comments on social media. It is untrue. The NSA did not provide air transport to anyone to Kano,” he said.

Mijinyawa further warned that political actors should desist from misinforming the public as law enforcement officials in the state strive to maintain peace and order.

This statement comes amidst heightened tensions in Kano following a Federal High Court order preventing the reinstatement of Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II.

Meanwhile, allegations and counter-allegations have further complicated the situation due to the involvement of high-profile officials in the emirate’s affairs.
