NATO Chief, Stoltenberg Calls for Use of Deadly Weapons Against Russia
Jens Stoltenberg, Secretary-General of NATO

The Chief of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO), Jens Stoltenberg, has called on member countries to use Western weapons against Russia.

Stoltenberg disclosed this during an interview with The Economist on Friday, stating that Western countries should lift the restrictions on their weapons in Ukraine to strike military targets located in Russia.

The time has come for allies to consider whether they should lift some of the restrictions they have imposed on weapons donated to Ukraine,” Stoltenberg said.

The statement comes amidst the already heightened conflict between Ukraine and Russia.

U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson and Congressman Michael McPaul reacted to Stoltenberg’s statement. Both criticised the current U.S. policy that limits Ukraine from using NATO weapons provided by the United States on Russia.

With a growing number of Western leaders advocating for a more aggressive response against Russia before crossing the border into Ukrainian territory, NATO might be drawn into full-blown war.

Meanwhile, Russia is currently conducting a tactical nuclear weapons drill near the Ukrainian border.
