Burkina Faso’s transitional leader, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, paid tribute to the nation’s fallen heroes on October 31, honouring those who sacrificed their lives for the country’s dignity and sovereignty.

In his message to the nation, President Traoré described their courage, dedication, and sacrifice as “a sacred legacy and a light that guides our shared commitment to build a strong and sovereign Burkina Faso.”

He extended his thoughts to the families of the fallen and to those still bearing the physical and emotional scars of the struggle, wishing them a swift recovery.

The Head of State called on citizens to draw strength from the nobility of the martyrs’ fight, urging continued determination toward the complete and genuine liberation of the nation.

“Homeland or death, we shall overcome,” President Traoré declared in conclusion.
