Peter Obi, the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, has donated N10 million to the College of Nursing Sciences in Adazi Nnuku, Anaocha Local Government Area, Anambra.

Obi emphasised the role of nurses in the nation’s healthcare sector, saying they deserved attention and support.

Institutions like this should get budgetary allocation because of the great work you are doing, trying to train these nurses who are always there with the patient,” Obi stated.

Assuring that he would continue supporting the institution, Obi said,

We can not talk about healthcare, which is very important to national development, without talking about healthcare workers

I have heard what the Head of the Nursing Department in the school has said; I want to assure you that we will return.

Training these people is helping to protect our future. If we do not train them today, they will threaten us, he stated.

Bishop Ezeokafor thanked Obi for his ongoing support, noting that Obi had been assisting the institution both before and during his tenure as governor and continues to do so as a private citizen. He promised that the donation would be used effectively for the benefit of the community and expressed hope for further support.
