Mali’s transitional government, under the leadership of General Assimi Goïta, has commenced the construction of headquarters for the newly established Court of Accounts as part of its commitment towards implementing the institutional reforms outlined in the Constitution of July 22, 2023.
The Court of Accounts, designated as the sixth institution of the Republic under the revised Constitution, is a key pillar of transparency and accountability in Mali’s governance framework.
This move within the first year of transitional government shows it is taking concrete steps to operationalise the vital institution.
The headquarters will feature cutting-edge infrastructure designed to meet the needs of its users. The building will house 187 offices, including 171 with private restrooms, a central atrium, and 11 archive rooms.
Additionally, the facility will include two courtrooms with capacities of 350 and 40 seats, two deliberation rooms, a library, and a restaurant. The building will offer 45 covered parking spaces for convenience, with 27 located underground and 18 at ground level.
This modern design is intended to create an optimal working environment for the Court’s magistrates and staff while reflecting the institution’s core values of transparency, efficiency, and modernity.
