The attack, which occurred around 6 p.m. on Monday, saw the assailants shooting sporadically while looting shops and the cattle market, DailyTrust reported.

Dauda Yakubu Damazai, an aide to the Fika LG Chairman, confirmed to reporters.

“Seven local traders lost their lives and 11 sustained injuries. Those injured were rushed to the General Hospital, Fika, for medical attention”, he said, adding that three of the attackers were killed by a combined effort of security forces and vigilantes.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, revealed that the attack was orchestrated by a group of six armed robbers, led by a suspect identified as Datti Alhaji Dadji from Ngalda town. The robbers stole approximately ₦16.5 million during the raid.
