The Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State, Mrs Patricia Yakubu, has accused the state party leadership of diverting several trucks of rice and fertiliser intended as palliatives from President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

The items were reportedly received through the Office of the National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu.

Mrs Yakubu disclosed this in a petition addressed to the NSA and copied to prominent leaders, including the Senate President, Speaker of the House of Representatives, and APC National Chairman, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje.

She called for urgent intervention to address what she described as mismanagement and fraud within the party’s state chapter.

The petition as reported by Sahara Reporters, details that the palliatives, meant to alleviate the hardships faced by party members and the public, were instead sold by the state APC chairman.

According to Mrs Yakubu, only 1-2 bags of rice and fertiliser were distributed to party executives, while the remaining were allegedly sold.

She also claimed that the party’s financial dealings have been conducted in secrecy and in violation of the APC constitution.

She added that the financial secretary has been removed as a signatory to the party’s accounts, while the treasurer has been sidelined entirely.

Instead, financial transactions are conducted through an individual’s account, details of which she promised to provide for investigation.

She also revealed that on one occasion, three months’ worth of funding—amounting to ₦75 million—was withdrawn and partly funnelled through Bureau De Change operators.

The petition highlighted allegations that funds provided by the Deputy National Chairman (North-East), Comrade Mustapha Salihu, to support the party were mishandled.

Mrs Yakubu claimed that out of ₦100 million given to the state executive committee, only ₦40.5 million was declared at the secretariat, while the rest remained unaccounted for.

“These actions have left many party members in poverty, unable to afford school fees or medical bills,” Mrs Yakubu lamented.

She added that some members have even died due to lack of resources to cover medical expenses, exacerbating the party’s disarray.
