The Federal Minister of Abuja, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has expressed that the Federal government will not give room for any form of bandit attacks in Abuja.

The Minister, Wike, spoke on Wednesday at a town hall meeting held with the residents of Bwari Area of Council of FCT.

He conveyed this remark following the incessant kidnappings for ransom and killings exercised by the yet-to-be designated terrorist group called ‘Bandits’.

Meanwhile, Wike had acknowledged on Tuesday that the administration is aware of the rampant incident of kidnappings for ransom by the armed ‘bandits’ during his meeting with the Head of Security agencies at the capital.

While speaking to the council of FCT residents on Wednesday, he conveyed that the President had instructed him to work with providing all that the security agencies would need to tackle insecurity, stating that “Abuja will be hot for bandits”.

Prior to his statement of commitment, in a recall, armed “bandits” had earlier abducted and killed some residents, including a 13-year-old teenager, Folashade Ariyo, who was kidnapped alongside 10 residents of the Sagwari Estate Layout in Dutse-Alhaji Area of Abuja, and Nabeeha Al-Kadriyar, a 400-level student of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, who was kidnapped alongside 22 other in Bwari.
