Russia and Mali Sign New Agreements in Transport, Industry, and Trade

Russia and Mali have strengthened their cooperation following the second session of their intergovernmental commission held in Kazan. Three memorandums of understanding were signed in the fields of transport, industry, and trade.

These agreements pave the way for closer collaboration, particularly in modernizing infrastructure and developing Mali’s railway network. Malian authorities believe these commitments will help realize several priority projects aimed at improving mobility and facilitating technical exchanges between the two countries.

In the industrial sector, cooperation has been initiated with Russian manufacturer KamAZ to study the possibility of setting up a vehicle assembly plant in Mali. This initiative seeks to enhance local capacity for freight and passenger transport while supporting the country’s industrial development.

Another component involves collaboration with Tatarstan focused on the economy and agriculture. The goal is to build a sustainable partnership, adapt supply chains to Mali’s agricultural realities, and strengthen producer skills to improve local output.

These agreements reflect a shared will to reinforce ties between Bamako and Moscow within a rapidly expanding strategic cooperation framework.
