AES, Togo and Chad Launch Strategic Energy Projects in Niamey

Ministers of Energy from the Alliance of Sahel States, alongside their counterparts from Togo and Chad, met in Niamey for high-level discussions chaired by Niger’s Prime Minister Ali Mahaman Lamine Zeine.

The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation across the oil, energy, and mining sectors as governments seek to regain control of key resources and reinforce energy and mineral sovereignty in the Sahel.

Prime Minister Zeine reiterated that Niger and its partners remain committed to responsible resource exploitation aimed at improving the welfare of local populations. Mali’s Energy Minister, Boubacar Diane, also stressed the importance of managing regional wealth in a sovereign and strategic manner as the participating countries move ahead with joint energy initiatives.
