The Malian Armed Forces (FAMa) announced that they dismantled a major terrorist base during an airborne operation in the Mousafaya area, near the Baoulé forest, on September 9, AESInfo reported.

The site, located about 35 kilometres south of Dioumara in the Diéma Circle of the Kayes region, was described as a stronghold for armed groups. According to the army, several dozen fighters were killed in the strike, which targeted militants accused of spreading propaganda and receiving support from foreign interests. The operation also sought to cut off the influence of these groups in the region.
