At 63, Femi Kuti Stuns Fans with 24 Performances in North America Tour

1.1k

Afrobeat legend Femi Kuti has achieved a remarkable milestone, completing 24 shows in just one month across Canada and the United States. The feat, rare even for younger performers, highlights his enduring stamina and passion for music at the age of 63.

His son proudly shared the achievement, Made Kuti, who described his father as “a multi-instrumentalist, composer, singer, and songwriter.” His post on X drew admiration from fans who praised the musician’s dedication to his craft despite the demands of back-to-back performances.

Femi’s tour followed the release of Journey Through Life, a 10-track album that reflects his signature blend of funk, jazz-inspired improvisations, and socially conscious lyrics. On stage, his energy remains infectious, with performances that not only entertain but also deliver messages on corruption, injustice, and resilience.

As the eldest son of Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti, Made has built a legacy of his own in music, upholding his father’s legacy.

Femi has spent over four decades producing acclaimed albums like Shoki Shoki, Fight to Win, and Stop the Hate.

Beyond the records and tours, Femi Kuti’s story is one of grit, consistency, and cultural pride — proving that age is no barrier when music is both a calling and a mission.
