Mali and China Deepen Strategic Ties During 25th FOCAC Anniversary, Pledge Enhanced Cooperation

Mali and China reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening diplomatic relations and strategic cooperation during the 25th anniversary celebrations of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).

On the sidelines of the commemorative event, H.E. Mr. Abdoulaye Diop, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Mali, held a cordial and constructive meeting with his Chinese counterpart, H.E. Mr. Wang Yi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China.

According to a statement from Mali’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two ministers discussed practical mechanisms to maintain a continuous political dialogue, emphasising their shared desire to advance the new strategic partnership between Mali and China.

The bilateral meeting underscored the mutual interest in deepening cooperation across various sectors, including infrastructure, security, trade, and cultural exchange, within the broader framework of the FOCAC.

This engagement marks a new chapter in Mali–China relations, reinforcing decades of collaboration and paving the way for expanded development initiatives and political consultations.

The Ministry’s Information and Press Office concluded by reaffirming Mali’s dedication to international diplomacy and partnership-building with key global allies.
