Niger Donates $2 Million to World Health Organisation

Niger has contributed $2 million to the African branch of the World Health Organisation (WHO), demonstrating its commitment to supporting global health initiatives.
The donation announced on X, was confirmed by Niger’s health minister, Garba Hakimi.
The funding is part of Niger’s participation in the WHO Investment Round, a new funding model designed to bolster the organisation’s financial resources and enhance its ability to address global health challenges.
Niger is committed to ensuring that our international organisations can fully meet the needs of our people. That is why Niger has committed to investing in the WHO Investment Round so that WHO can fully play its role in caring for the health of the world’s population,” Hakimi said during a meeting with WHO representatives.
The investment model encourages member states to contribute funds of any size to ensure the organisation is equipped to respond to emergencies and promote health initiatives worldwide.
