Mali Authorities Confirm Neutralising Two Terrorists in Timbuktu

Malian Armed Forces (FAMa) on Saturday said it had neutralised a logistics truck and two terrorists in the Timbuktu region as part of its efforts to find and neutralise armed terrorist groups in the country.

The operation, which took place on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, was disclosed on Saturday, October 26, by the General Staff of the Armed Forces in a report, stated that airstrikes targeted the terrorists in the southwest of Bouj-Beha in the Timbuktu region.

Mali’s General Staff comprises a Cabinet, three Advisors and four Sub-Chiefdoms: Operations, Logistics, Human Resources, and Finance.

According to the post-operation report, Mohamed Ould Labbat, a great logistician and emissary of the head of the Katiba of Timbuktu and Abdul Latif Al-Insari, head of operations in the Zouera sector, was confirmed dead.

Following the success of the operation, the General Staff of the Armed Forces reassured Malians that the search for neutralisation of terrorists continues.

Meanwhile, on October 20, 2024, the Malian Armed Forces disclosed a similar operation, confirming the neutralisation of Modibo Diallo, also known as Abbass, whom the Forces claimed had been responsible for multiple attacks on civilians and planting improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
