A second season of the popular Netflix series Blood Sisters is officially in the works, with executive producer Mo Abudu announcing the news on her Instagram. The series, produced by EbonyLife Studios, is set to return after 18 months of development, with a table read completed and filming scheduled to start in the coming weeks.

The new season will feature returning stars such as Ini Dima-Okojie, Nancy Isime, Kate Henshaw, Uche Jombo, Daniel Etim Effiong, Kehinde Bankole, Gabriel Afolayan, Segun Arinze, Patrick Doyle, Genoveva Umeh, along with new faces like Michelle Dede, Ifeanyi Kalu, Ben Touitou, Anita ‘Warri Pikin’ Asuoha, Blessing Jessica Obasi, Fadekemi Olumide, Bolaji Ogunmola and Mike Afolarin, though their roles are yet to be revealed.

Abudu also mentioned in her announcement that viewers should “expect twists, turns and edge-of-the-seat drama” in Blood Sisters season two. The script is penned by Craig Freimond, Zeli Zulu, and Adze Ugah.

Blood Sisters tells the story of two best friends, Sarah (Ini Dima-Okojie) and Kemi (Nancy Isime), who become fugitives after Sarah’s groom disappears on the wedding day—the series’ first season, released in 2022, ended with a tense warehouse confrontation, leaving fans eager for more twists and turns. The first season, directed by the late Biyi Bandele and Kenneth Gyang, was a hit, making it to Netflix’s global top ten English TV shows after its debut.

Daniel Oriahi will be joining Kayode Kasum as co-director for season 2, as the release date for the new season is yet to be confirmed.
