Atiku Calls Tinubu as 'TPain' Over Fuel Subsidy Crisis

Atiku Abubakar, former Vice President, has criticised President Bola Tinubu’s approach to handling the fuel subsidy crisis, referring to him as ‘T-Pain’.

The 2023 Presidential Candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party disclosed this on Thursday via his official X account, describing the situation as “haphazard and disingenuous approach” by the Tinubu-led administration as the cause of the ongoing economic challenges facing Nigeria.

The haphazard and disingenuous approach of the current administration to fuel subsidy management has been the reason we are in this current economic crisis in the country,” the statement reads partly.

He further expressed concern regarding the escalating inflation rate, which contributes negatively to the Nigerian populace.

As things stand, there will be no let up in the escalating inflation rate, which is drowning the material well-being of Nigerians,” he added.

Atiku also stated, “It is even more worrying that T-pain is undisturbed by the hardship in the country.”

The name ‘T-Pain’, relative to the pain President Tinubu’s economic policies have caused many Nigerians, was dubbed mid-September by Nigerians on X after he visited Maiduguri to console the flood victims.

In addition to the failing policies from the Tinubu-led administration is the re-emergence of the designated terrorist group Boko Haram, which President Tinubu’s cabinet member claimed to have defeated in his one year in office since May 29, 2023.
