Amidst unrest caused by insecurities in Northern Nigeria, the Islamic State-backed faction of Boko Haram, the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), has reportedly killed one police officer and carted away one mobile vehicle during an attack in Gubio Police Divisional Office in Borno State.
It was learned that the gunmen, who arrived in Bunduldul on two Hilux cars and multiple motorcycles, parked their cars near Kasuwan Shanu and then sneaked into the town on foot.
With the terrorist carting away one Hillux vehicle belonging to the police division, a Counter-Insurgency Expert and Security Analyst, Zagazola Makama, based in the Lake Chad region, confirms the shooting started at 2 am when the first gunshot was fired, followed by sporadic shooting that breached the security parameters at the division, leaving one officer dead and one constable missing. This sad event has raised concern with the apparatus in the state as the terrorist group shows another capability to attack a police division.
