Yobe: Terrorists Kill Many, Loot, Burn Houses And Shops

Yobe Terrorists Kill Many

Suspected Boko Haram insurgents launched an attack on Mafa village in Yobe State‘s Tarmuwa Local Government Area, looting and setting fire to shops and homes.

DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, the spokesperson for the Yobe State Police Command, disclosed this information to the News Agency of Nigeria on Monday in Damaturu.

“We are yet to ascertain the number of lives lost in the incident, which occurred at about 4 pm on Sunday in the remote village,” he stated.

He said residents Babagana Goni and Bako Ibrahim reported the attack to the Tarmuwa Divisional Police Station.

According to their report, “Suspected Boko Haram terrorists armed with rifles and RPGs attacked Mafa Ward on more than 50 motorcycles and set ablaze many shops and houses.

“The terrorists also killed many people, but we are yet to ascertain the actual number of the casualties,” Abdulkarim said.

He also noted that the assailants left behind flyers with Arabic text.

In a separate incident, gunmen attacked Faudiya School in Geidam Local Government Area of Yobe State early Friday, resulting in the confirmed deaths of at least three students.
