Yobe Curfew Nationwide Protest

The Yobe State government has enforced a 24-hour curfew in the towns of Potiskum, Gashua, and Nguru amid the nationwide #EndBadGovernance protests on Thursday.

General Dahiru Abdussallam (Rtd), the Special Adviser on Security Matters to the Yobe State Governor, announced this in a statement released on Thursday.

According to Abdussallam, the imposed curfew aims to restore peace and stability in the state following violent protests in the areas mentioned above

The Yobe State Government has considered the security situation in Potiskum, Gashua, and Nguru towns where some hoodlums are taking advantage of the protest to vandalise and loot government and private properties, he said.

He urged residents to comply with the curfew and remain indoors to help maintain peace in these towns and across the state.

The Special Adviser also instructed security forces in the state to enforce the curfew strictly and ensure total adherence.

This comes hours after the Borno State government imposed a 24-hour curfew citing violence.
