The 73rd Miss Universe pageant is set to take place on November 16, 2024, at Arena CDMX in Mexico City, Mexico.

So far, 10 African countries have been confirmed to participate in Miss Universe 2024. Among the confirmed participants are three stunning representatives from West Africa, ready to make their mark on the global stage.

1. Guinea

Making history as Guinea’s first-ever participation in Miss Universe, 29-year-old Saran Bah has been chosen as Miss Universe Guinea 2024. A top Guinean model, Bah was the 2nd runner-up in Miss Guinea 2019 and Miss Guinea Canada 2014. In 2021, she achieved international recognition by placing in the top 40 at the Miss World contest in Puerto Rico.

2.Senegal

Representing Senegal at Miss Universe 2024 is Fatou Bintou Gueye, the first runner-up at Miss Senegal 2024. The 23-year-old beauty, born and raised in Dakar, will carry Senegal’s hopes in Mexico as she steps onto the international stage.

3. Nigeria

Nigeria’s Chidinma Vanessa Onwe Adetshina, crowned Miss Universe Nigeria 2024, will also compete in Mexico. Born in Soweto, South Africa, to a Nigerian father and a Mozambican mother, Adetshina’s journey to the Miss Universe stage has been a unique one. She initially participated in the Miss South Africa 2024 pageant but withdrew after facing online bullying due to her Nigerian roots. Miss Universe Nigeria then extended an invitation, which she accepted, ultimately securing her victory against 24 other contestants.

These remarkable women are set to showcase the beauty, talent, and cultural diversity of West Africa at Miss Universe 2024.
