UNILORIN Rusticates 6 Final-year Students, 13 others for Malpractice and Misconducts

The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) in Kwara State has rusticated 19 students, including six final-year students, following their involvement in various misconducts, including theft and examination malpractice.

In a statement released by the UNILORIN Director of Corporate Affairs, Kunle Akogun, on Monday, April 1, 2024, it was revealed that the Students’ Disciplinary Committee recommended the disciplinary measures during its 220th/221st meeting.

The offences ranged from misconduct, theft, examination malpractice, hostel bed-space racketeering, extortion, and assault to admission racketeering.

Among those expelled were Amatokwu Evans of the Department of Art Education, Nwachukwu Chinedu Joshua of the Biochemistry Department, Oshinboluro Temitope Joshua from the Mathematics Department, Sulaimon Mayowa from Biochemistry, and Okanle Samuel from the Physiotherapy Department.

Additionally, UNILORIN rusticated students, including Adebayo Adeleke from Performing Arts, Hassan Hanan Adebola from History and International Studies, Ayodele Samuel Koseunti from History and International Studies, and others across various departments.

The penalties ranged from rustication for one semester or one academic session to expulsion, depending on the severity of the offence.
