342

Sky Mali and Air Senegal have announced a partnership to introduce new flight routes connecting major cities in West Africa‎. The lines would be Bamako to Ouagadougou and Bamako to Abidjan. This collaboration is expected to enhance connectivity and air transport options in West Africa.

The new routes will link Bamako, the capital of Mali, to Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso, and Abidjan, the economic hub of Côte d’Ivoire. Beyond improving flight availability,  both airlines hope to boost economic development in the region. This would strengthen trade and tourism. The increased flexibility will also benefit both business travellers and tourists.

Regarding the partnership, Mali Actu noted that passengers can expect increased flight frequencies, competitive fares, and a better travel experience.

Mali, alongside Burkina Faso and Niger, is a member of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES), an initiative that is improving economic cooperation and security in the Sahel region. The alliance is working on projects to strengthen infrastructure, share resources, and potentially introduce a common currency to simplify trade across member nations. Despite challenges like economic sanctions, Mali has shown signs of gradual recovery and is focusing on rebuilding its economy through regional cooperation.

At the same time, Senegal is actively investing in its energy sector and expanding transportation networks to boost its economy and support regional trade. These investments are expected to improve stability and drive economic growth across West Africa.
