The Enugu State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a native doctor and the father of a 26-year-old man, Chikwado Celestine Eze, who died during a failed fortification ritual in Ugbaike, Enugu Ezike, Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area last week.

A young boy was allegedly shot and killed by Nigeria Police Force officers in the Kubwa area of Abuja on Saturday, the third day of the #EndBadGovernance protests. The incident reportedly occurred near Zenith Bank, with eyewitnesses stating the boy was not part of the protest.

According to an eyewitness,

The boy was not part of the protesters; he was coming on his own after the police had pointed a gun at us from a different position.

Activist lawyer Deji Adeyanju condemned the shooting as an unprovoked murder. In a message to DAILY POST, Adeyanju said,

IGP Kayode Egbetokun and his bloodthirsty men should come and eat the meat of this innocent young guy shot on the neck at close range at Kubwa by Zenith Bank. This is unprovoked murder.

The FCT Police spokesperson Josephine Adeh is yet to respond to messages demanding confirmation of the tragic event. The brute force deployed by security officers and the military has left over a dozen citizens dead, with more numbers added to the toll on Saturday.
