A road project hailed as a beacon of progress in the Makun Sagamu community of Ogun State which was merely opened two months ago by the Dapo Abiodun-led government has caved in following a heavy rainfall.

The road, stretching from Ojumele to Ajegunle, was hailed as a vital artery for the community’s transportation network. Its rehabilitation was said to be a testament to the government’s dedication to providing quality infrastructure to its citizens.

In a documentary released by the state government upon the project’s completion, several promises were made regarding the road’s durability and its potential to improve the lives of residents.

“As part of our commitment to ensuring quality infrastructure for our community, we are pleased to announce the successful completion of the Ojumele-Ajegunle Road rehabilitation project in Makun Sagamu, the rehabilitation was undertaken with the aim of delivering well-maintained roads that will benefit our residents,” the post noted.

However, the optimism surrounding the project has been shattered, following a recent downpour in the community, and sections of the newly renovated road caved in.
