  • Peter Obi Lands in Ivory Coast to Support Eagles

Ahead of the crucial quarter-final clash against Angola, Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro has opted to maintain continuity in his starting lineup, banking on the players who impressed in the round of 16 victory against Cameroon.

The match, starting in a few minutes at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium in Abidjan, promises to be a test of mettle for both sides.

Peseiro entrusted the defensive responsibilities to the trio of William Troost-Ekong, Semi Ajayi, and Calvin Bassey. This defensive shield aims to fortify the goalkeeping duties, with Nwabali assuming the pivotal role between the posts.

On the flanks, the dynamic duo of Ola Aina and Zaidu Sanusi is primed to operate as wing-backs, poised to contribute both defensively and offensively.

Their versatility and pace are expected to provide width and impetus to the Super Eagles’ attacking endeavours.

In midfield, the combination of Alex Iwobi and Frank Onyeka is set to commandeer proceedings, dictating the tempo and orchestrating transitions with finesse and precision.
