Niger Parliamentary Delegation Visits Bamako to Strengthen Ties Within the CSSS

270

A parliamentary delegation from Niger has arrived in Bamako, Mali, as part of ongoing efforts to deepen cooperation among the member states of the Confederation of Sahel States (CSS).

Leading the Nigerien delegation is Mamoudou Djingarey, President of the Consultative Council for the Reorganisation of Niger. Djingarey is set to participate in a session of Mali’s National Transitional Council (CNT), underscoring the growing political and institutional ties between the two nations.

Upon arrival in Bamako, the Nigerien delegation was received by Malick Dia, President of Mali’s National Transitional Council. They were later joined by representatives from Burkina Faso and the Malian Prime Minister Choguel Kokalla Maïga for a series of discussions focused on regional integration and governance under the CSS framework.

The visit marks another milestone in the alliance’s ongoing efforts to strengthen coordination mechanisms among its member states. One of the key priorities under discussion is the establishment of a confederal parliament, which would formalise legislative cooperation across Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso.

Through such initiatives, the CSS seeks to consolidate its vision of shared sovereignty, collective security, and regional development; an effort that continues to redefine political collaboration in the Sahel region.
