Prominent Nigerian women, including Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Tiwa Savage, Nissi Ogulu, Hephzibah Akinwale, and Eniola Shokunbi, have been honoured at the 2025 Forbes Women Africa Awards for their outstanding contributions across various fields. The awards were presented during the Forbes Women Africa Leading Women Summit in South Africa.
Okonjo-Iweala, the Director-General of the World Trade Organization, received the Lifetime Achievement Award, while music star Tiwa Savage was named Media Icon of the Year. Visual artist Nissi Ogulu took home the Youth Icon Award, Hephzibah Akinwale received the Next Generation Award, and Eniola Shokunbi was recognised as a Young Achiever.
The summit, themed “To The Power of 10: The Rule-Breakers In Africa’s Next Chapter,” celebrates African women breaking barriers in business, politics, arts, and society. Held annually in honour of International Women’s Day, the event highlights the achievements of women driving positive change across the continent.
