Netflix has officially announced the premiere date for Season 2 of “Squid Game,” alongside the revelation that the acclaimed Korean drama will conclude with its third season. Season 2 is set to premiere on December 26, with the final season scheduled for release in 2025.

Returning to the series are Lee Jung-Jae, Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-jun, and Gong Yoo. They will be joined by a host of new cast members, including Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Gyu-young, Lee Jin-uk, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-Geun, Kang Ae-sim, Lee David, Choi Seung-hyun, Roh Jae-won, Jo Yu-ri, and Won Ji-an.
Season 2’s plot picks up three years after Player 456, Seong Gi-hun, won the deadly competition. Determined to dismantle the organisation behind the game, Gi-hun uses his prize money to track down the enigmatic man in the suit who recruits players with ddakji in the subway. However, his quest leads him back into the game’s deadly challenges, proving the journey to end the organisation is more complex than ever.
The first season of “Squid Game” is the most-watched series in Netflix’s history. It garnered critical acclaim, receiving 14 Emmy nominations and winning six, including Best Director for Hwang Dong-hyuk, Best Actor for Lee Jung-jae, and Best Guest Actress for Lee You-mi.
