Mali Cuts Fuel Prices Amid Economic Struggles

Malian government reduction in fuel prices

The Malian government has announced a significant reduction in fuel prices at the pump. The new rates, effective today, are expected to provide much-needed relief to consumers amid ongoing economic challenges.

According to the government’s statement, seen by AESInfo, the revised prices for key fuel products are as follows: Unleaded gasoline: 775 FCFA per litre, Diesel: 725 FCFA per litre, Distillate Diesel Oil (DDO): 725 FCFA per litre, Fuel Oil 180: 600 FCFA per litre kerosene and Jet A1: Prices remain subject to market fluctuations.

Additionally, the price of butane gas remains unchanged, with an unsubsidised rate of 1,179 FCFA per kilogram. This means a 2.75 kg gas bottle will continue to sell for 3,245 FCFA, while the 6 kg bottle remains at 7,075 FCFA.

The government explained that this decision follows a thorough analysis of supplier prices for March 2025. By implementing these reductions, authorities hope to ease the financial burden on Malian citizens and businesses, reaffirming their commitment to economic stability and improved living conditions.
