Businessman and socialite Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, was granted N10 million bail with two sureties by the Federal High Court in Lagos State on Wednesday.

Cubana Chief Priest, who earlier pleaded not guilty to charges of tampering and abusing the naira during his trial, was arraigned before Justice Kehinde Ogundare on three counts related to the abuse of the nation’s currency.

The charges allege that Cubana Chief Priest sprayed and tampered with the naira during a social event at Eko Hotel on February 13, 2024, in violation of the Central Bank Act of 2007. It is claimed that he sprayed the currency for two hours while dancing at the event.

Further details on the case are expected to emerge later.
