Amidst the anticipation for the forthcoming iPhone 16 lineup, which is still months away from its official launch, speculations surrounding the iPhone 17 series have already begun to surface. The iPhone 17 series is expected to debut in 2025.

Analyst Jeff Pu from Haitong International Securities has released details suggesting significant changes in the design and lineup structure of the iPhone 17. This includes introducing a new ‘Slim’ model and the potential discontinuation of the iPhone 17 Plus variant. The iPhone 17 Plus will not be called that – according to Pu, it will go by the iPhone 17 Slim and have a 6.6″ screen.

According to Pu’s investor note, the iPhone 17 lineup is poised to feature a revamped design and enhancements to the front-facing camera, along with smaller Dynamic Island technology. The standout addition to the lineup would be the iPhone 17 Slim, slated to offer consumers a unique form factor with a slightly smaller display than the Pro Max model.

Pu’s insights indicate that the iPhone 17 series will offer a diverse range of screen sizes:

– iPhone 17: 6.1-inch screen

– iPhone 17 Pro: 6.3-inch panel

– iPhone 17 Pro Max: 6.9-inch display

– iPhone 17 Slim: 6.6-inch screen

Notably, the iPhone 17 Slim is considered thinner than its counterparts. This may potentially appeal to users looking for a sleek and lightweight device.

In terms of specifications, all iPhone 17 models are expected to feature aluminium frames, while the Pro Max model will possibly be titanium. Additionally, the lineup is rumoured to incorporate the A18 or A19 chip, accompanied by varying RAM configurations ranging from 8GB to 12 GB. The front-facing camera may be upgraded to 24 MP across all models to increase photography quality. 12 MP is in use currently.

The Pro and Pro Max variants might also get a smaller face sensor, making the phones look sleeker. While these rumours are intriguing, only official announcements by the tech giant will confirm them.
