Gunmen stabbed and shot Demola Akinloye, the first son of the Ojomu of Ajiran land, Tijani Akinloye, in the community. According to PUNCH, the assassination happened on Monday near Ebano Supermarket on Chevron Drive.

Reports indicate that the killing has created tension in the area, causing residents to leave the community. An estate in the area confirmed the incident in a notice, advising residents to avoid Chevron, Agungi, and Ajiran for their safety.

The spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, also confirmed the incident. In a brief statement, he said the police had begun investigating the matter.

He explained that the 50-year-old prince was attacked by four armed men in a white mini-bus while driving his black Toyota Corolla near Bourdilon Court Estate Gate. The attackers shot and stabbed him to death. Police have visited the scene, recovered an expanded cartridge, and moved the body to a morgue for autopsy.

Hundeyin said the case would be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) in Panti, Yaba, for further investigation.
