Emir Crisis: FG, APC Creating Boko Haram Resurgence in Kano – Kwankwaso

Senator Rabi’u Kwankwaso, the 2023 Presidential Candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has accused the APC-led Federal Government of trying to create a new wave of Boko Haram terrorists in Kano.

Kwankwaso made this accusation on Monday during the inauguration of an 82-kilometre rural road project in Madobi in response to the situation in Kano, where security agencies are supporting the deposed Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero.

He asserted that the people of Kano would resist any efforts to undermine the state’s authority, saying:

“We have mass followership because people believe in us, we are pro-people, and the NNPP administration is determined to serve them anywhere they voted for it.

We will not fold our arms and watch enemies of the state destroy the peaceful co-existence of our dear state; we shall do everything possible to support the governor to succeed. I am happy that he is not distracted and is focused on achieving his goals.

“There are people from Kano, enemies of the state, who also suffer mental illness and are the ones advising the Federal Government on how to take over Kano through the State of Emergency. This is the madness of the highest order that the good, peace-loving and committed people of Kano will resist.”

Kwankwaso also warned that as the 2027 elections approach, some politicians attempt to cause disruption. He stated that the NNPP is ready to fight political victimisation and is not afraid of being out of power.

He criticised the Federal Government for listening to unpatriotic politicians from Kano and reiterated that any attempts to undermine the Governor’s constitutional role would be opposed.

We are open to dialogue, truce and reconciliation, but we will not accept intimidation and political harassment. We know how to play politics, and we have all it takes to protect ourselves from evil, Kwankwaso warned.
