520

The Edo State Police Command has ordered the arrest of drivers operating vehicles with tinted glass, unregistered cars, or vehicles with covered plate numbers. The state Commissioner of Police, Iwo Nemi, issued the directive on Wednesday. Nemi said the order was aimed at tackling the growing issues of kidnapping, robbery, and cultism in the state.

According to the police spokesperson, SP Moses Yamu, the law will be strictly enforced without exception. Nemi warned the public to avoid using such vehicles to prevent arrest, emphasising that no one is above the law.

“The general public are by this notice, warned to desist from using such vehicles to avoid being arrested, because the law does not respect anyone.

“I appeal to the good people of Edo to cooperate with the Police in its quest to ensure the safety of lives and property of the general public, especially during this build-up period to the election,” he said.
