President Bola Tinubu has appointed former Lagos State House of Assembly member, Mojisolaoluwa Kehinde Alli-Macaulay as the new Executive Director of Operations at the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF).

Recall that on October 30, 2020, the former lawmaker and former Chairperson of the Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Women Affairs, Poverty Alleviation, and Job Creation allegedly diverted COVID-19 palliatives for personal use, a now-deleted report by SaharaReporters revealed.

Upon the disclosure, BudgIT Nigeria and Code Development (CODE), civic rights organisations, jointly petitioned the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to investigate the former lawmaker for the alleged abuse and diversion of COVID-19 palliatives.

According to BudgIT, in reaction to the announcement, the ICPC was asked to provide the outcome of the investigation as petitioned.

What was the result of your investigation @icpcnigeria?” BudgIT demanded.

However, nearly four years later, the Tinubu-led administration approved the former lawmakers’ appointment as operations director of NSITF, a social insurance organisation providing pension, compensation, and other benefits to workers in Nigeria under the Ministry of Labour and Employment.

President Tinubu also appointed Mr Oluwaseun Faleye as the new Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) and Mr Idris Ajimobi as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Livestock Development (Office of the President).
