Nigerian Afro-fusion star Burnaboy has made history as the first African artist to have multiple albums surpassing one billion streams each on Spotify. His critically acclaimed albums Love, Damini and African Giant have achieved this remarkable milestone, solidifying his influence in shaping the global music narrative.

Love, Damini was was released in 2022 and features hits like “Ast Last” and “My Hand” with Ed Sheeran. The album blends personal storytelling with Afrobeat, reggae, and pop influences, resonating deeply with listeners worldwide. It debuted at No. 14 on the Billboard 200, marking an African album’s highest U.S. chart debut.

Meanwhile, his 2019 breakout project, African Giant, includes fan favourites such as “On the Low” and “Anybody,” which propelled Burnaboy to international acclaim. The album won the Edison Awards for Best World Music Album and received a Grammy nomination in the same category.

This achievement is particularly significant as it highlights the growing recognition and appreciation for African music on the world stage.
