The General Council of the Assemblies of God Church of Burkina Faso has donated construction materials worth 10 million CFA francs to support the Faso Mêbo Presidential Initiative.

Led by its president, Pastor Dr. Etienne P. Zongo, the church delegation visited the paving stone production site in Ouagadougou, where the donation was presented. The materials include oxide, formwork oil, sikalite, and cement.

Pastor Zongo said the church welcomed and supported the initiative, which aims to contribute to national development.

We came to express our joy at the initiatives that are being undertaken to build our homeland,” AIB quoted him.

Following the donation, Zongo and members of his delegation joined workers in producing paving stones on-site. He called on members of the Assemblies of God Church across the country to also contribute.

“We open the door to every faithful Christian of the Church of the Assemblies of God. If you have the heart to do even greater things, do so,” he said.

Faso Mêbo is a nationwide initiative launched on October 16, 2024 by President Ibrahim Traoré to rehabilitate and pave roads, improve sanitation, and support community infrastructure using local materials and voluntary labour.

In March 2025, President Captain Ibrahim Traoré officially launched the operational phase of the Faso Mêbo initiative with the delivery of more than 900 heavy-duty machines to its national coordination office. The machines included bulldozers, excavators, dump trucks, graders, compactors, and concrete mixers.

According to the presidency, this batch is part of the first phase of an acquisition programme valued at around 200 billion CFA francs ($360 million). The goal is to pave between 3,000 and 5,000 kilometres of roads across the country each year to support military mobility, boost trade, and improve access in rural and urban areas.

President Traoré described the project as a revolution in national infrastructure, saying it reflects Burkina Faso’s determination to overcome resource constraints and connect its communities through durable roads and urban planning.
