Burkina Faso’s Council of Ministers convened on Thursday under the chairmanship of the country’s highest authorities, adopting a series of decisions spanning health, education, urban planning and economic development.

In the health sector, the council authorised new projects to strengthen medical infrastructure and approved the acquisition of additional technical equipment to improve patient care. Officials said the measures aim to expand access to healthcare and raise the quality of services across the country.

On education, ministers reviewed the organisation of school and professional examinations for the 2026 session. New arrangements have been put in place to ensure the smooth running of all tests throughout the national territory.

The council also adopted a decree on the categorisation of Burkinabe cities, a move designed to better manage urban growth and improve territorial governance as the country’s population becomes increasingly urbanised.

In the economic and development sphere, several major infrastructure projects are currently under way, with a focus on public services and state resource management. The government reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening public administration and ensuring the continuity of essential services.

In summary, Thursday’s cabinet meeting placed emphasis on infrastructure development, territorial reform and the maintenance of core public services, reflecting the administration’s priorities for the coming months.
