President Joe Biden has pulled out of the 2024 United States of America Presidential election race and will not run for a second term in office.

This development now means Democrats must elect a new presidential candidate to face off against Republican nominee Donald Trump.

In a  statement addressed to Americans, President Biden said serving as the nation’s leader was the “greatest honour of my life.”

“While it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as president for the remainder of my term,” Biden said.

This announcement will reshape the political landscape as Democrats scramble to identify and rally behind a new candidate.
