The Malian Armed Forces have carried out a successful territorial surveillance operation in the north-eastern area of Saraferé, in the Mopti region, according to a military statement.

The operation resulted in the neutralisation of several fighters identified as members of armed terrorist groups operating in the area. Military authorities said the action forms part of ongoing efforts to secure communities and maintain control over strategic zones amid persistent security threats.

The army noted that such surveillance and counterterrorism operations are aimed at protecting civilians, safeguarding territorial integrity, and disrupting the movements of armed groups across central Mali.

Security operations have intensified in recent months as the authorities seek to stabilise vulnerable regions and strengthen state presence in areas affected by violence.
