Burkina Faso’s President, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, has reinforced the country’s push for national resilience with the handover of 764 vehicles and heavy equipment to local brigades under the Faso Mêbo Presidential Initiative.

This marked a significant step in strengthening the logistical and operational capacity of brigades in the Yaadga, Koulsé, Goulmou, and Bankui regions.

The fleet includes 4×4 pick-up trucks, concrete mixers, recyclers, crane trucks, dump trucks, tankers, graders, and mobile projectors.

According to officials, the provision of such a large volume of equipment is intended to accelerate infrastructure projects, boost community development efforts, and enhance the capacity of brigades to respond effectively to local needs.

Receiving the equipment on behalf of the initiative, Commander Zoodnoma Ahmed Sakandé, National Coordinator of Faso Mêbo, described the handover as a “strategic reinforcement” that will not only empower brigades but also help sustain the momentum of resilience and self-reliance promoted by the Head of State.

The Faso Mêbo initiative is part of the government’s broader strategy to decentralise resources, empower local structures, and ensure that communities across Burkina Faso have the means to address development and security challenges.
