Tems To Headline FIFA Club World Cup Final Halftime Show Alongside Doja Cat, J Balvin

Nigerian singer-songwriter Tems will make history on Sunday, July 13, 2025, as one of the headline performers at the first-ever FIFA Club World Cup Final halftime show, joining global music powerhouses Doja Cat and J Balvin at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. This marks the first time FIFA will feature a Super Bowl-style halftime performance in any of its tournaments.

Tems’ inclusion on the bill is mainly symbolic. Not only is she the sole African artist in the lineup, but her rise from Lagos to the global stage mirrors the broader cultural ascent of Nigerian music. Known for her soulful voice and introspective lyrics, the Grammy-winning singer will bring a unique African rhythm to an event watched by millions worldwide.

Her performance at the Club World Cup will be her first appearance on a FIFA stage, placing her in the spotlight before a stadium of more than 80,000 fans and a global TV audience of millions.

The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, an expanded edition featuring 32 of the world’s top football clubs, is already promised to be a landmark tournament. But the halftime show, with its high-wattage talent, cultural resonance, and charitable ambition, has elevated expectations.

Alongside Tems, Colombian reggaeton icon J Balvin brings the vibrant pulse of Latin America, while Doja Cat, known for her bold stagecraft, will electrify the crowd with her signature flair. Together, the trio will deliver a 15-minute halftime spectacle that blends Afrobeats, reggaeton, pop, and hip-hop, transforming the pitch into a global music festival.

But this is more than just a show. The performance is part of a broader initiative to raise $100 million through the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which aims to expand educational opportunities in underserved communities. Proceeds from the event and associated campaigns will directly support efforts to improve access to quality education, an urgent need, particularly in parts of Africa, Latin America, and Southeast Asia.
