A Lagos Magistrate Court has rejected a request by the Nigeria Police Force to remand Olumide Ogunsanwo, popularly known as “Seaking,” over a viral TikTok video in which he criticised President Bola Tinubu, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and other politicians.
According to a post by Omoyele Sowore on X, the court granted Seaking bail on liberal terms.
He was represented in court by Human Rights Lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, who had argued that the police’s actions constituted an abuse of power and a breach of the his constitutional rights to free expression.

Seaking was picked up by security agents after his video, containing commentary about Nigerian leaders, went viral on social media.
