The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced public holidays on Wednesday, December 25; Thursday, December 26; and Wednesday, January 1, 2025, to celebrate Christmas, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day.
The Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, declared in a statement signed by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Magdalene Ajani, on Monday.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo extended warm greetings to Nigerians, urging them to embrace the spirit of the festive season by fostering love, peace, and unity across the nation.

He encouraged Nigerians to use the holidays to reflect on shared values and strengthen the country’s bonds, emphasising that the season calls for togetherness and harmony.
